Volunteer work with Food Angel

In celebration of the 6th anniversary of the Grace Child Development and Therapy Centre, we are proud to partner with Food Angel Sham Shui Po to volunteer.

We are grateful to provide nutritious meals to vulnerable elderly suffering from chronic illnesses, impaired mobility, and/or those living in loneliness or in isolation.

The Food Angel Community Centre in Sham Shui Po serves over 250 elderly, who live alone or who are facing a crisis situation.

On 13th Dec, some of our staff and therapists

visited Food Angel Sham Shui Po kitchen to help prepare nutritious meals for the elderly.

We also brought along pre-packed food collected from our kids to the elderly who is in need.

Thanks again to our kids and parents for your kindness and support.

How can you tell if my child has problem with articulation (pronunciation and talking)?

If a child has difficulties with articulation they might:

Become overly frustrated when communicating with others.
Produce speech that is difficult to understand even for familiar listeners.
Have difficulty linking together more than one or two sounds.
Tend to use only vowel sounds (very open mouthed noises).
Produce speech that is unclear alongside dribbling and messy eating skills.
Produces speech that is less clear than other children of the same age.
Produce an interdental lisp (e.g. tongue protruding between the teeth when saying a /s/ or /z/ sound) if over the ages of 3.5 – 4 years.
Be school aged and still having difficulty saying several sounds.

Speech Therapist Ms Janice Tam received a thank you card from one of our lovely students.

Thank you for showing us love and support!

Our professional team provides various types of assessment and treatment, e.g speech therapy, occupational therapy, behavioural therapy, integrated training and counselling.

We provide services for children with Autism, Global Developmental Delay, Speech and Language Delay and Dyslexia. She also works with infants with feeding and swallowing complications etc..
